Oven “Fried” Chicken Recipe

My husband loves fried chicken! This is my healthy alternative to greasy fried chicken. Bonus: my daughter loves it, too!

Ingredients

1 Pack Chicken Tenders (or your choice of chicken – drumsticks work well, too!)

1 Egg

1 Tablespoon Milk (can sub your choice of milk)

1 Cup Corn Flakes Cereal

1 teaspoon of each (add more to your liking):

-Paprika

-Cayenne Pepper

-Garlic Powder

-Oregano

-Thyme

-Black Pepper

-Salt

 

Optional: French’s Crispy Onion

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Spread a tablespoon of vegetable oil on a baking pan.

Crush 1 cup Corn Flakes. I suggest putting the Corn Flakes in a ziploc bag and crushing them. Much cleaner! If you’d like, you can add a tablespoon or two of French’s Crispy Onions. It’s delicious either way! Add spices to the crushed corn flakes, and give it a couple of good shakes.

Grab two bowls. Empty your bag of Corn Flakes mix into one bowl. In the second bowl, beat one egg and mix in a tablespoon of milk. Dip chicken into egg mix & make sure it is fully coated. Then, dip chicken into Corn Flakes Mix. Place prepared chicken onto baking dish.

Cook chicken at 400 degrees for about 30 minutes. Chicken tenders will be done in about 25 minutes. Dark meat will require about 45 minutes.
